MARK C. PHILLIPS, APC Mark Phillips is a partner. Since becoming an attorney in 1990, he has handled mediations, arbitrations, trials and appeals in State and Federal Courts throughout California involving Insurance Coverage/Bad Faith, Professional Liability, Construction Defect, Surety and Site Accident claims, Catastrophic Personal Injury and Business Litigation matters. He has published several law review articles and is a former judge pro tem of the Contra Costa County Superior Court. Before joining the firm, he was a claims counsel at a major insurance company. A representative case is Alex R. Thomas & Co. v. Mutual Insurance Casualty Insurance Company, 98 Cal.App.4th 66 (2002), which resulted in a finding of no coverage for a first-party property loss claim. A third-generation Californian and native of Los Angeles, Mark is married, and has three sons and a growing number of granddaughters. He loves to travel, read and write, and is involved with amateur radio and various civic groups. EDUCATION
